1. About These Terms

These terms and conditions apply to all services provided by AES Electrical and Building Contractors Ltd ("the Company", "we", "our", "us"). By engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.

2. Quotations & Pricing

  • All quotations are provided free of charge and without obligation.
  • Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
  • Prices are based on the information provided at the time of the quote. If additional work is discovered during the project, we will inform you and provide a revised quote before proceeding.
  • VAT will be charged where applicable and will be clearly shown on all invoices.
  • Emergency call-out fees may apply for out-of-hours work and will be communicated prior to attendance.

3. Payment Terms

  • For larger projects, a deposit may be required before work commences.
  • Final payment is due upon satisfactory completion of work unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • We accept payment by bank transfer, cash, and card.
  • Late payments may incur interest in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act.

4. Our Obligations

We will:

  • Carry out all work to a professional standard and in compliance with current regulations.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and Part P of the Building Regulations where applicable.
  • Provide appropriate certificates and documentation upon completion, including Electrical Installation Certificates and Minor Works Certificates as required.
  • Maintain appropriate professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
  • Dispose of waste materials responsibly and in accordance with environmental regulations.

5. Client Obligations

You agree to:

  • Provide safe and reasonable access to the work area.
  • Ensure the work area is clear of obstructions where possible.
  • Inform us of any known hazards, such as asbestos, before work commences.
  • Obtain any necessary planning permissions or consents required for the work.
  • Make timely decisions regarding materials, specifications, and design choices to avoid project delays.

6. Warranties & Guarantees

  • All our electrical work is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of completion.
  • This guarantee covers defects in workmanship and materials supplied by us, but does not cover damage caused by misuse, third-party interference, or general wear and tear.
  • Manufacturer warranties on products and materials are passed through to the client where applicable.
  • These guarantees are in addition to your statutory consumer rights.

7. Cancellation

  • You may cancel agreed work by providing reasonable notice. If materials have already been ordered or work has commenced, you may be liable for costs incurred up to the point of cancellation.
  • For domestic customers, work booked at a distance (e.g. by phone or online) is subject to the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, which provides a 14-day cooling-off period.

8. Liability

  • We carry comprehensive public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance for your protection.
  • Our liability is limited to the value of the work carried out or the amount covered by our insurance, whichever is greater.
  • We are not liable for any pre-existing defects in the property's electrical system that are not part of the agreed scope of work.
  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from the work, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.

9. Complaints

We take all complaints seriously. If you are not satisfied with any aspect of our work, please contact us immediately so we can resolve the issue:

We aim to acknowledge all complaints within 24 hours and to resolve them as quickly as possible.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any updated terms.
