EICR Certificates Explained

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a formal document produced following an assessment of the electrical installation within a property. It identifies any deficiencies against the national safety standard.

For Landlords: Since April 2021, all landlords in England must have a valid EICR for their rental properties. The report must be renewed every 5 years or at change of tenancy.

For Homeowners: While not legally required, an EICR is recommended every 10 years or when buying/selling a property. It ensures your home's electrical system is safe for your family.
